Charleston, WV – Drier weather is set to return to the lowlands of West Virginia, while a few showers or storms might linger along the mountains today. This pattern shift brings a quieter finish to the workweek for many residents. According to the US National Weather Service in Charleston, a front to the south will provide a focus for isolated showers and storms this weekend into early next week.

Today, expect temperatures in the low to mid-80s in the lowlands and upper 60s to 70s in the mountains. Friday will see dry conditions across most areas, with temperatures ranging from the upper 60s to mid-80s. On Saturday, a stalled front will bring chances for showers and storms back along the mountains and to the south, with highs in the 80s for the lowlands and 70s to low 80s for the mountains.

Sunday continues the trend of isolated showers and storms, particularly in the south. Temperatures will remain consistent, with lowlands in the 80s and mountains in the 70s to mid-80s. Early next week, scattered showers are forecasted for Monday and Tuesday, with a gradual decrease in precipitation chances by midweek. Temperatures will hover around the low to mid-80s during this period, ensuring a relatively mild climate for the region.
