Charleston, WV – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Charleston reports that drier and milder weather will hold across much of West Virginia through early next week, before a new system brings rain back to the area Tuesday into Wednesday.
According to the NWS, Sunday and Monday will feature breezy and dry conditions, with temperatures reaching the 40s and 50s in the mountains and 50s to 60s in the lowlands. Overnight lows will drop into the 30s and 40s.
By Tuesday, a weather system is expected to move in, delivering rain showers and mild temperatures—potentially reaching the 60s in some lowland areas. Showers are likely to continue into Wednesday, followed by a noticeable drop in temperatures as a cooler and drier air mass settles in just ahead of Thanksgiving Day.
The NWS says the upcoming cooldown could bring a crisp, seasonal feel for the holiday, with highs returning to the 40s and 50s across the state.
Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts for updated rainfall timing and possible travel impacts leading into the busy Thanksgiving travel period.
