Charleston, WV – The first full week of November will bring calm, dry weather across West Virginia and surrounding areas before a stronger cold front approaches later in the week, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston.

Forecasters said widely scattered light showers will taper off Sunday evening as an upper-level system exits the region. High pressure is expected to take control through the first half of the week, keeping skies mostly clear and temperatures mild.

Daytime highs Monday through Wednesday will range from the upper 40s to low 60s, while overnight lows will fall into the 30s and low 40s. The weather service noted that although a weak cold front may pass midweek, significant rainfall is not expected until the end of the week, when a stronger system moves in from the west.

The region can expect classic fall conditions — cool mornings, comfortable afternoons, and light winds — through at least Wednesday.

Residents are advised to monitor forecasts later in the week for updates on the approaching front, which could bring a noticeable drop in temperatures heading into the weekend.
