Charleston, West Virginia – Storms across West Virginia will wind down Saturday evening, clearing the way for a much calmer and cooler stretch of weather through midweek. Residents can expect dry skies and highs in the 70s Sunday as high pressure builds over the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Charleston, temperatures will dip into the 40s and low 50s overnight before rebounding to seasonably mild highs Sunday afternoon. Clouds will gradually decrease, with clearer skies dominating by Sunday night into Monday morning.
The workweek starts dry, with Monday’s highs reaching the upper 70s across much of the state, including Huntington, Parkersburg, and the Kanawha Valley. By Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures remain comfortable in the mid to upper 70s, with continued sunshine and little to no rain in sight. Roads are expected to stay dry, improving travel conditions statewide.
Residents are advised to take advantage of the quieter weather to prepare for any potential systems later in the month, as fall’s transition season often brings increased variability.
No new advisories are in effect, but updates may follow if pattern changes develop later in the week.
