Charleston, WV – Halloween celebrations in Charleston could face stormy interruptions as gusty winds and rain move in by evening, potentially impacting trick-or-treating plans. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a forecast for winds reaching 20-30 mph across the region today, with rain chances climbing by nightfall.
According to NWS Charleston, skies will remain mostly sunny during the day with a high near 83 degrees. However, as Halloween festivities approach, rain chances increase to 80% after midnight, with gusty conditions expected to intensify. Families heading out for Halloween activities should prepare for shifting weather, holding onto costumes and candy bags as strong gusts may create safety hazards.
Tonight’s forecast warns of an 80% chance of showers beginning after 1 a.m., bringing fresh precipitation and cooler temperatures as low as 57 degrees. Winds will continue overnight, with sustained speeds of 11 mph and gusts nearing 25 mph.
Looking forward, Friday’s forecast includes additional showers with a high of 67 degrees, followed by clearing skies in the evening and temperatures dipping to around 40 degrees. The weekend promises calmer conditions, with Saturday partly cloudy and a high near 70 degrees, while Sunday sees a slight chance of showers late in the day and a high of 74 degrees.
