West Virginia residents should prepare for gusty winds and rain showers Friday, March 7, with conditions improving through the weekend. Temperatures will remain cool, and roads, including I-64, could see wet conditions during peak travel times.

According to the National Weather Service, rain and snow showers will start early Friday morning, mainly before 11 a.m., with a high near 51°F. Winds will shift southwest at 6 mph in the morning, calming by afternoon.

Friday night will see additional light showers after 2 a.m., with lows dropping to 38°F. The chance of precipitation is 40%, but accumulation will be minimal.

By Saturday, rain showers will linger in the morning before tapering off. Highs will reach 47°F with winds around 5-10 mph. Saturday night brings partly cloudy skies and a low of 28°F.

Sunday will be the driest day, with sunny conditions and highs around 55°F, offering a welcome break from Friday’s rain.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday will continue the warming trend, with highs reaching 63°F and 72°F, respectively.
