Charleston, WV – Rain continues to spread across West Virginia today and could become heavy at times this afternoon, before tapering to showers tonight and into Wednesday, the National Weather Service in Charleston reports.

A cold front will cross the region Wednesday, bringing a sharp temperature drop and brisk northwest winds. Daytime highs will reach the 50s early, then fall into the 30s and 40s by evening.

Behind the front, conditions will turn dry but windy through Thanksgiving Day, with highs only in the upper 30s to low 40s and wind chills dipping into the 20s and teens in the mountains.

Travelers are urged to plan for wet roads, gusty winds, and rapidly falling temperatures ahead of the holiday.
