Charleston, WV – Dry weather will continue tonight, but a weak cold front could bring light precipitation to southeast Ohio and northern West Virginia on Tuesday. While rain chances remain low, a stronger cold front arriving Wednesday night into Thursday increases the likelihood of showers.

According to the National Weather Service Charleston, WV, temperatures will rise midweek, with lowland areas reaching around 60 degrees on Wednesday. However, the cold front late Wednesday into Thursday will bring scattered rain showers, with expected rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.

For Tuesday, mountain temperatures will range from the 40s to upper 50s, while lowlands will see highs in the mid-to-upper 50s. The best chances for rain will be north of Interstate 64, tapering off by early afternoon. Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week, featuring partly sunny conditions and highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s.

By Thursday, temperatures will cool, with mountain highs in the mid-to-lower 40s and lowland temperatures around 50 degrees. Residents should prepare for scattered showers moving from west to east.
