Huntington, WV – The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and western West Virginia, including areas along the Ohio River.

The advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. EST Saturday, with visibility dropping to one or two miles, and in some areas less than a mile. Impacted cities include Huntington, Ironton, Parkersburg, Marietta, and Ashland.

Forecasters warn that the fog may make driving conditions hazardous, especially on I-64, U.S. 35, and Route 52. Motorists should slow down, keep headlights on, and maintain extra distance between vehicles as conditions may vary quickly between clear and dense fog zones.

Fog is expected to lift gradually by late morning as temperatures rise. The National Weather Service urges travelers to remain alert and allow for extra travel time during the morning commute.

This event follows calm overnight winds and moisture from the Ohio River—ideal conditions for dense fog formation in the Tri-State region.
