Charleston, WV – A wet and unsettled weather pattern is setting up for Charleston and the Kanawha Valley, bringing rain chances nearly every day this week. Residents should prepare for damp commutes, potential travel delays, and fluctuating temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be the warmest and driest day of the week, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 67°F. However, rain returns late Monday night with a 20% chance of showers, followed by a higher likelihood of rain by Tuesday.
By midweek, conditions worsen. Wednesday brings an 80% chance of rain with highs near 50°F, and showers will continue into Wednesday night. Thursday is also expected to be rainy, with a 90% chance of precipitation and a high of 62°F.
Drivers on I-64 and I-77 should be cautious of slick roads and reduced visibility, especially during morning and evening rush hours. While no severe weather is expected, localized flooding could become a concern if rain persists.
