Lubbock, TX – Warm, sunny weather will continue across the South Plains this weekend, but changes are on the way by Sunday night. The National Weather Service in Lubbock reports that temperatures will remain above normal through Sunday, with highs in the mid-80s to low 90s under mostly sunny skies.

According to the National Weather Service, tonight will stay mostly clear with lows dipping into the low to mid-60s. Sunday will begin similarly warm but with increasing clouds ahead of an approaching cold front.

By Sunday night, that front is expected to bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms, with overnight lows falling into the upper 50s to mid-60s. Forecasters say rain chances could linger into early next week as cooler air moves into the region.

Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates and prepare for potential changes in outdoor plans late Sunday.
