Midland, TX – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Midland/Odessa has issued a High Wind Watch from late Tuesday night through Wednesday evening for the Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains region, including Guadalupe Pass.

According to the NWS, northeast winds of 35 to 45 mph are possible, creating hazardous conditions along mountain passes. The watch includes Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico and Guadalupe Mountains National Park in Texas, as well as nearby communities such as Pine Springs and Queen.

Forecasters warn that travel could be dangerous for high-profile vehicles, including tractor-trailers, RVs, and vans. Drivers are encouraged to delay travel through the area or take alternate routes until conditions improve.

The High Wind Watch will remain in effect from late Tuesday night through Wednesday evening, with forecasters advising residents and travelers to monitor the latest forecasts and updates.
