Midland, TX – Texas faces an extreme heatwave as temperatures are expected to soar above 100 degrees in much of the state, with Midland potentially reaching a scorching 104°F on Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Northeast Permian Basin, including Midland and surrounding areas. This warning is in effect from this afternoon into early evening, urging residents to take necessary precautions to stay safe.

According to the forecast, the high temperatures will persist throughout the weekend, with Friday and Saturday expected to reach 98°F. Sunday may offer little relief, with highs near 99°F. The heat continues into early next week, with Monday’s forecast showing temperatures potentially hitting 100°F again. Tuesday will see a slight drop, but temperatures are still predicted to hover around 97°F.
