Memphis, TN – The National Weather Service in Memphis is asking residents across West Tennessee to submit damage reports following Saturday evening’s severe storms, which produced strong winds and scattered damage in several counties.
According to the agency, reports are especially needed from areas highlighted in red on the latest survey map, including Fayette, Haywood, Hardeman, Madison, Crockett, Gibson, Henderson, Benton, Carroll, and Henry counties.
Meteorologists are looking to verify wind damage, including trees or power lines down, roof or structural damage, and other impacts. Residents are encouraged to include details such as the location, approximate time of occurrence, and photos if available.
While no confirmed tornadoes have been reported as of Sunday morning, the NWS continues to review radar data and eyewitness accounts to determine the extent of Saturday’s severe weather.
Anyone who observed damage can contact the National Weather Service by phone at 901-544-0401 or by email at nws.memphis@noaa.gov.
