Memphis, TN – The Mid-South will experience its first true taste of fall Monday morning, with cooler temperatures and patchy frost possible in some areas, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis.
Forecasters expect low temperatures in the 40s across most of the region, with clear skies and light winds allowing for extra cooling overnight. In rural and low-lying areas near the Tennessee River, readings may fall into the upper 30s, where isolated frost could develop early Monday.
Meteorologists say the cool start marks the beginning of a seasonably pleasant week, with sunny afternoons and highs in the 60s to lower 70s through midweek. Residents are encouraged to protect sensitive plants and bring outdoor pets or decorations indoors overnight to avoid frost damage.
No precipitation is expected, and the cool, dry pattern should persist into the middle of the week.
