Ludington, MI – The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids is warning residents along the Lake Michigan shoreline to prepare for snow, ice, and gusty winds through Tuesday afternoon, December 9, 2025.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. EST Tuesday for Mason and Oceana Counties, including the cities of Hart and Ludington.

Forecasters expect 2 to 4 inches of snow and a light glaze of ice, with winds gusting up to 35 mph. The wintry mix is expected to make bridges, overpasses, and secondary roads particularly slick and hazardous through the day.

Drivers are urged to slow down and allow extra time for travel, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Visibility may be reduced at times due to blowing snow and mixed precipitation.

Motorists can check current road conditions at Michigan.gov/Drive or by dialing 511 before heading out.
