Grand Rapids, MI – The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for southwest Lower Michigan, warning of accumulating snow and hazardous travel through tonight and into early Monday.

Forecasters say snow showers will develop this evening, with temperatures dropping into the 20s and wind chills falling into the teens. Areas along U.S. 127, mainly between Lansing and Mount Pleasant, could see slick roads and reduced visibility as snow continues overnight.

Additional lake-effect snow may linger into Monday, especially near the Lake Michigan shoreline, where another 1–3 inches of accumulation is possible. The Weather Service also notes a risk of downed tree limbs and power interruptions where heavier wet snow develops.

Travelers are urged to use caution on untreated roads and bridges, particularly during the early morning commute. Winds will increase out of the northwest overnight, further reducing visibility in open areas.

Skies will clear Tuesday with highs near 41°F, followed by milder conditions and sunshine by midweek as temperatures rise into the upper 40s.
