West Chicago, IL – An 18-year-old accused in the fatal shootings of two men earlier this month will remain in custody after a judge denied his pre-trial release. Ivan Ramirez, of West Chicago, faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted armed robbery with a firearm, officials said.

According to DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin, the incident occurred on November 9, when police found Alejandro Rios and Antonio Delgado deceased in a car on West Forest Avenue. Investigators allege Ramirez and co-defendant Xavier Arevalo, 17, planned to rob the victims during a THC cartridge transaction. Both suspects are charged as adults.

Ramirez and Arevalo are set to appear in court on December 16 and December 9, respectively.
