San Angelo, Texas – Dangerous heat continues to grip west central Texas on Tuesday, with temperatures climbing past 105°F in several counties and a heat advisory in effect until 7 p.m. for southeastern parts of the region, including Brady, San Saba, and Junction.

According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, a heat advisory remains active for McCulloch, San Saba, Mason, Menard, and Kimble counties. Afternoon highs are expected to reach 101° to 105°, running 15 to 20 degrees above average for mid-May. Winds from the west will blow at 10 to 15 mph, offering little relief from the oppressive conditions.

Abilene and San Angelo will avoid record heat but are still expected to reach 102° and 101° respectively. In smaller towns like Mason, Menard, and Sonora, residents are urged to avoid outdoor activity during peak hours and stay hydrated. Emergency managers recommend wearing light clothing, using air conditioning, and checking on vulnerable neighbors and pets.

This marks the second consecutive day of triple-digit temperatures for the region. Heat alerts may extend if conditions persist. Stay tuned for updates and limit outdoor exposure during the hottest parts of the day.
