Weld County, CO – An 18-year-old student has been arrested and charged after authorities say a hidden recording device was discovered in an all-gender restroom on the Aims Community College campus in Greeley.

According to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, deputies assigned to the campus were alerted on November 19, 2025, when college safety personnel found a recording device positioned to capture restroom activity.

Investigators identified the suspect, Ashton Harrington, through video surveillance with the help of campus security. Harrington was arrested on suspicion of five counts of invasion of privacy for sexual gratification, the sheriff’s office confirmed Friday.

Deputy Thomas Agnew is leading the investigation and is asking anyone who believes they may have been recorded or has additional information to contact him at tjagnew@weldgov.gov.

Officials emphasized there is no ongoing danger to the community. The case remains under active investigation, and no further details are being released at this time.

All charges are accusations until proven guilty in a court of law.
