Weld County, CO – Detectives in Weld County are investigating a deadly early-morning shooting in the Hill-N-Park neighborhood that left one man deceased and another in critical but stable condition Wednesday, authorities said.

According to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 1:21 a.m. to a shooting at a residence in the 4200 block of Grand Teton Road. When they arrived, deputies met with the surviving victim, who also served as the reporter. The individual told investigators he had been involved in a long-standing feud with his neighbor, who is the alleged suspect.

According to deputies, the suspect allegedly kicked in the victim’s door and entered the home holding an unknown object. A struggle reportedly followed between the two, during which the victim allegedly shot the suspect. The suspect was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The surviving victim was also taken to a local hospital and remains in critical but stable condition.

The Weld County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the deceased individual. Investigators said the scene remains active, but there is no ongoing threat to the community.
