Paducah, KY – Heavy rain and severe storms will impact parts of western Kentucky, southwest Indiana, and surrounding areas this weekend. A Flood Watch is in effect from 12 AM Saturday to 6 AM Sunday, with 2-6 inches of rainfall possible.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, flash flooding is a major concern, especially in low-lying areas. Roads may become impassable, and motorists should avoid driving through flooded areas.
Along with flooding, severe thunderstorms are possible between 3 PM and 9 PM Saturday, mainly over the Missouri Bootheel and western Kentucky. Damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes may develop.
Residents should prepare for potential flooding and severe weather by staying informed, securing loose outdoor objects, and having an emergency plan.
