Corpus Christi, TX – A coastal flood advisory remains in effect for Corpus Christi and surrounding areas as minor flooding is expected today, impacting several counties. Forecasters predict water levels will rise along the coast, posing a threat to roads and low-lying areas in Nueces, Kleberg, and nearby counties through tonight.

According to the National Weather Service, flood-prone areas, including beach parking lots and coastal roads, may be inundated, with high tides worsening the situation during the morning and evening. Drivers are urged to avoid flooded areas and take precautions as some roads may be impassable, including portions of Highway 361 and FM 1069. Coastal residents should protect vulnerable properties from potential water damage and be aware of the risk of minor beach erosion.

Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday will see a 40-50% chance of thunderstorms after 7 a.m. on Friday and continuing through Saturday evening. Wind gusts could reach up to 23 mph, with localized storms impacting visibility and travel on major routes like US-181. The advisory is set to expire at midnight Friday, but wet conditions may persist.

Sunday offers a brief reprieve with partly sunny skies, but another chance of showers looms by the evening. By Monday, the weather is expected to clear, with highs reaching 88°F. Coastal residents should continue to monitor the latest advisories as the situation evolves.
