Minnesota – Residents in southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin should prepare for widespread rainfall beginning tonight and continuing through Monday, impacting roads, especially I-90. Heavy showers are expected to bring up to 1.5 inches of rain in some areas, potentially leading to slippery conditions and reduced visibility. Southeast Minnesota drivers should remain cautious and consider allowing extra travel time due to likely wet roads and slower traffic conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, rainfall amounts will vary, with most areas receiving at least a half inch, and isolated spots accumulating over an inch. The rain will spread across southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, bringing beneficial moisture but also creating potentially hazardous travel for Sunday and Monday commuters. Drivers are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and prepare for longer travel times on routes impacted by rain, such as Interstate 90.

Sunday’s forecast shows rain likely through the morning, with gusty winds reaching up to 25 mph. High temperatures will hover around 49 degrees, followed by cooler overnight lows in the mid-40s. Rain is expected to persist through Monday, with above-normal temperatures peaking at 60 degrees before dropping to 31 degrees Monday night as clouds clear.

The rain will begin to taper off by Tuesday, giving way to sunny skies and mild conditions, with highs around 50 degrees. Looking ahead, temperatures are set to remain relatively warm for early November, with partly sunny skies expected into midweek.

Stay updated with local forecasts and road conditions, especially if traveling in the affected areas, and plan for rain delays as necessary.
