Green Bay, WI – Residents of Central Wisconsin will enjoy a bright and sunny day today with temperatures peaking in the mid-70s. Early morning patchy fog will dissipate quickly, giving way to mostly clear skies, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

Despite today’s pleasant weather, residents should prepare for significant changes tonight. The National Weather Service forecasts periods of showers and thunderstorms starting late tonight and continuing through Tuesday night. Two main periods of heavy rain are expected: late tonight through Tuesday morning, and late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are predicted, with some areas potentially receiving more than 2 inches.

Additionally, hazardous conditions are anticipated on Green Bay and Lake Michigan starting early Tuesday morning. Gusty south winds up to 30 knots will create waves between 5 to 8 feet, leading to a high risk of rip currents. These conditions pose dangers to small craft and those engaging in water activities.

Residents should stay alert for updated weather information and be prepared for possible flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously and avoid water-covered roads. Ensure that emergency kits are ready and that family members know the safety plan for severe weather.
