Baltimore, MD – A winter storm watch remains in effect for portions of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia from late tonight through Sunday evening. Forecasters warn of heavy snowfall with up to 5 inches expected in some areas.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the snow will begin early Sunday morning and continue through the afternoon. Affected areas include Northwest Montgomery and Northwest Howard Counties in Maryland, as well as Eastern Loudoun and Northwest Prince William Counties in Virginia. The snowfall could make travel hazardous with slippery road conditions likely throughout the day.
Residents should monitor the latest weather updates and prepare for potentially dangerous driving conditions. The heaviest snowfall is expected during the morning and early afternoon hours, with conditions improving late Sunday evening as the storm moves out of the region.
The NWS advises residents to avoid unnecessary travel and to prepare emergency kits with essential supplies. Snowplows and salt trucks will be deployed to keep primary roads clear, but secondary roads may remain treacherous.
Monitor the National Weather Service for updates and stay alert for further advisories.
