Cleveland, OH – Central Ohio and Western Pennsylvania are bracing for a day of severe weather, with the potential for damaging winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Cleveland has issued a slight risk warning for severe thunderstorms expected to develop today.

According to the NWS, morning showers have already begun to move east and will continue throughout the day. The primary concern is the development of additional thunderstorms along a cold front expected between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. This weather pattern will primarily affect areas near and east of the I-71 corridor, extending into western Pennsylvania.

The NWS highlights that the main hazards include damaging wind gusts and locally heavy rain. There is also a significant risk of large hail and the possibility of tornadoes forming. Residents are advised to stay vigilant and keep up with the latest forecasts throughout the day.

Meteorologists caution that the ongoing morning showers and thunderstorms could hinder the development of new storms later in the day. However, the threat of severe weather remains substantial, necessitating preparedness actions from residents in the affected regions.
