Green Bay, WI – A midweek winter storm is expected to bring several inches of snow across central and northeast Wisconsin from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning, creating hazardous travel conditions across the region.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Green Bay, Winter Storm Watches remain in effect for two overlapping time periods covering a broad stretch of the state. The first watch runs from Tuesday afternoon through late Tuesday night for counties including Marathon, Portage, Waushara, Wood, Lincoln, Langlade, Menominee, Northern Oconto, Shawano, and Waupaca.

In these areas—stretching from Wisconsin Rapids and Wausau to Antigo, Merrill, and Shawano—forecasters expect 4 to 7 inches of snow, with snowfall potentially becoming heavy at times Tuesday night. Slick roads and reduced visibility may affect the Tuesday evening commute, particularly along Highways 29, 10, and I-39.

A second watch covers Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning for Door, Brown, Outagamie, Winnebago, Manitowoc, Calumet, Kewaunee, and southern Oconto Counties, including Green Bay, Appleton, Neenah, Oshkosh, Manitowoc, and Sturgeon Bay. Snowfall will likely continue into early Wednesday, with strong northerly winds producing blowing and drifting snow, especially near the lakeshore and in open areas.

The Wednesday morning commute may be slow across the Fox Valley and Door Peninsula as light snow lingers and winds create pockets of reduced visibility.

NWS officials urge residents to monitor updated forecasts and prepare for winter driving. Motorists should allow extra time, reduce speed, and expect rapidly changing road conditions Tuesday night into Wednesday.
