Seattle, WA – A winter storm warning remains in effect for the West Slopes of the North, Central, and South Central Cascades until 10 a.m. PST Monday, bringing heavy snowfall and hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, areas above 2,500 feet will see additional snow accumulations between 8 and 16 inches in the North Cascades and up to 20 inches in the Central and South Cascades, including Snoqualmie Pass, Stevens Pass, and Crystal Mountain Ski Area.
Travel could become very difficult to impossible throughout the region, especially in mountain passes. Authorities urge travelers to carry emergency supplies, including flashlights, food, and water. Power outages are also possible due to the heavy snow.
Cities such as Concrete, Skykomish, Packwood, and Morton are expected to feel the storm’s full impact. Drivers are advised to avoid non-essential travel through Monday morning as snow continues to accumulate.
