SEATTLE – Streetlights flicker on slick pavement this early morning as gusty winds whip through trees and rain taps steadily against glass. A Wind Advisory remains in effect through early Sunday morning, signaling a blustery start to what will be a very wet stretch for western Washington.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, gusts up to 45 mph have already swept across portions of Puget Sound, toppling small branches and making travel tricky for high-profile vehicles. Steady rain builds through the morning, bringing another half inch to an inch by midday. Visibility may drop below a mile at times, especially along I-5 between Everett and Tacoma.

By Monday, the wind eases but the showers persist — the start of a damp, unsettled week typical of late October. Temperatures remain mild, with highs in the mid-50s and lows in the mid-40s. Rain chances stay high through Tuesday, when another Pacific front pushes inland, keeping conditions soggy across King and Snohomish Counties.

A brief dry window appears Wednesday, offering a short reprieve for commuters and trick-or-treat planners. However, models hint at more rain returning by Thursday into Halloween Friday, with light breezes and temperatures hovering near 57°F at dusk — not cold, but certainly damp.

After that, early November looks cooler and windier, with a chilly pattern shift that could hint at the first snowflakes in the Cascades by next weekend.
