Seattle, WA – Seattle residents should keep umbrellas handy through Thursday night, as a rainy stretch brings up to a 50% chance of showers across the city and surrounding Puget Sound region.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, the next round of wet weather begins Wednesday morning with a 30% chance of rain, increasing to 50% on Thursday. Highs will remain cool in the upper 60s to low 70s, with overnight lows dipping to the mid-50s. Light winds from the northwest and south will accompany each system.

Downtown Seattle, Bellevue, and Shoreline could all see intermittent rain, with isolated showers reaching as far south as Renton and north toward Lynnwood. Drivers should watch for slick road conditions during morning and evening commutes. Outdoor plans should factor in sudden drizzles and cloudy skies.

In contrast, Spokane stays warm and dry through midweek with highs in the mid-80s and mostly sunny skies. Light winds may pick up to 10 mph Wednesday afternoon, but no rain is expected in eastern Washington until early next week.

Western Washington’s rain chances taper off by Friday evening. A drier, clearer pattern is expected to return this weekend.
