Seattle, Washington – Five straight days of dry, sunny heat are on the way for Seattle, with temperatures climbing close to 90°F by Monday afternoon — a rare summer stretch that brings a Summer Weather Alert for heat safety across the Puget Sound region.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, high pressure will lock in warm, dry air beginning Monday, July 14, with daily highs near 78°F Monday, rising to 89°F by Wednesday. Overnight lows will hover around 61–62°F, offering little relief for heat-sensitive residents and those without air conditioning.

While there are no active watches or advisories, the warming trend poses increased risk for dehydration, heat exhaustion, and indoor overheating — especially for the elderly, young children, and those living in poorly ventilated housing. Locals are urged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor work during peak afternoon hours, and check on neighbors.

Commute-wise, expect glare and dry pavement across I-5, SR 99, and I-90, with no precipitation or fog through at least Friday, July 18.

This week’s sun streak is part of a broader Western ridge that’s keeping cooler Pacific air at bay. While Seattle often sees mild summers, a five-day dry stretch with highs above 85°F is uncommon and should be taken seriously.

🌤️ Five-Day Forecast for Seattle, WA (July 14–18):

  • Monday: High 78°F, mostly sunny

  • Wednesday: High 89°F, sunny and warm
  • Thursday: High 86°F, continued sun
