SEATTLE, Wash. – A gray curtain of rain is sweeping across Puget Sound this morning, bending trees and rippling puddles along I-5. A potent Pacific front is surging inland, bringing gusty winds and soaking rain to much of western Washington through Sunday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, a Wind Advisory remains in effect from 1 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday for the greater Seattle metro, including Everett, Olympia, and Tacoma. Southeast winds will increase to 25–35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Tree limbs could snap, and scattered power outages are possible in wooded neighborhoods or exposed ridges.

Periods of heavy rain will persist through Sunday afternoon, dropping a half inch to one inch across the lowlands and higher totals in the Cascades. Drivers should expect wet pavement and ponding water during the Saturday evening rush and early Sunday. Ferries across Puget Sound may experience delays as gusts and choppy waves intensify through the day.

By Monday, showers will taper but linger across the coast and Cascade foothills before cooler, drier air settles in midweek. Temperatures will stay mild—upper 50s by day and upper 40s at night—though models hint at cooler, more seasonal air by Halloween.

For now, secure outdoor decorations and plan for soggy errands. After all, a chilly November isn’t far behind.
