Washington – Damp pavement and low gray clouds blanket Spokane this morning as light rain moves across eastern Washington. Headlights shimmer across wet lanes along Interstate 90 while a cool southwest breeze pushes through the city.

Early temperatures sit near 45°F across Spokane under overcast skies. Light rain continues in scattered patches across Spokane County as the morning progresses.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, showers will taper through the morning hours. Cloud cover lingers, but temperatures will climb to about 62°F later today across Spokane, Spokane Valley, and Airway Heights.

Drivers on Interstate 90 and US-395 should allow extra stopping distance early today. Wet pavement may create slick travel conditions during morning traffic.

Clouds remain tonight with temperatures dipping near 45°F.

Sunday brings another round of changing weather across eastern Washington. A passing system increases clouds and wind while temperatures reach around 58°F. Southwest winds may gust as high as 38 mph during the afternoon, especially across exposed areas of the Spokane Valley.

Residents should also remember the Daylight Saving Time change early Sunday morning at 2 a.m., when clocks jump forward one hour. The brighter evenings will bring the first real signs of spring daylight.

Meteorologists are now tracking colder air arriving early next week.

Sunday night temperatures fall to near 31°F, allowing precipitation chances to return.

By Monday afternoon, a chance of snow develops across the Spokane area as temperatures struggle to reach 45°F. Snow amounts appear light for the city, but higher elevations north and east of Spokane could see more accumulation.

Snow chances continue into Tuesday with highs near 44°F, keeping roads occasionally slushy during early morning hours.

Drivers traveling along I-90 toward Lookout Pass or the Idaho state line should monitor road conditions closely.
