Spokane, WA – A late-season snowstorm will hit Spokane early Thursday, bringing potential travel disruptions before shifting to rain by midday. Residents should prepare for slick roads, especially during the morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service, snow is expected to begin early Thursday morning, with levels as low as 2,400 feet before rising to 3,100 feet by the afternoon. Winds will increase from the southwest, reaching speeds of 15 to 18 mph. Temperatures will climb to a high of 52°F, melting most of the snow by the afternoon.

Thursday night will see continued precipitation, with rain at lower elevations and snow above 3,000 feet after 2 a.m. into Friday morning. Conditions remain wet into Friday, with rain likely throughout the day and a high near 53°F.

The weekend brings fluctuating conditions, with a mix of rain and snow possible Friday night, followed by partly sunny skies on Saturday. Highs will stay in the low 50s, while overnight lows hover in the mid-30s.

By Sunday, a 60% chance of rain returns, continuing into Monday with slightly cooler temperatures. Next week starts on a drier note, with partly sunny conditions by Tuesday.

Drivers should use caution Thursday morning as roads may be slick, particularly on I-90 and surrounding highways. Check local forecasts for updates and allow extra time for travel.
