Spokane, WA – A strong spring weather system will sweep into eastern Washington Monday, bringing showers, gusty winds, and cooler air to Spokane, with impacts expected through midweek.
According to the National Weather Service, rain begins Monday morning with up to 0.25 inches possible by nightfall. Winds will increase throughout the day, shifting from south to southwest and gusting up to 29 mph. Drivers on Interstate 90 should expect slick roads and reduced visibility during peak hours.
By Monday night, snow levels will drop sharply from 5,500 feet to near 4,100 feet after midnight. Though little accumulation is expected in Spokane, foothill and mountain regions may see light snow. Tuesday keeps the chance of showers alive until around 11 a.m. before transitioning to partial sunshine and a high near 57°F.
The unsettled pattern continues midweek. Tuesday night could bring more showers, especially after 11 p.m., along with a new cold front dropping snow levels again to 4,100 feet. Wednesday will begin cloudy with early showers but gradually turn mostly sunny with highs around 59°F.
