Seattle, WA – Drivers in western Washington should brace for wet roads and shifting skies Tuesday as a round of spring showers rolls through.
According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, rain is expected to return during the day on Tuesday, May 13, with a high near 65°F and winds from the south around 7 mph. The morning and early afternoon hours will stay dry and mostly cloudy, but by midday, conditions will begin to shift. Motorists along Interstate 5 and connecting routes across King and Snohomish counties should prepare for slick surfaces and low visibility, especially during afternoon and evening commutes.
While Tuesday’s rainfall remains light, the region enters a wetter stretch midweek. A 20% chance of showers returns Wednesday morning, followed by a slight uptick Thursday and Friday, particularly after 11 a.m. each day. High temperatures will stay between 61–63°F, cooler than seasonal averages, but not unseasonably cold.
Seattle residents should keep umbrellas and light jackets on hand through the end of the workweek. While no flooding or major alerts are expected at this time, the recurring moisture and cloud cover could cause intermittent delays for outdoor events and ferry services.
Looking ahead, showers may linger into Saturday and Sunday, although brief dry windows are possible. The National Weather Service recommends checking daily updates, as patterns could shift quickly across Puget Sound.
