Spokane, Washington – Red Flag Warnings remain in effect across eastern Washington on Tuesday, with dry conditions, gusty winds, and falling humidity increasing wildfire danger around Spokane and the I-90 corridor.
According to the National Weather Service, Spokane will see a high near 79°F on Tuesday, with northeast winds gusting up to 25 mph through the afternoon. While only a 20 percent chance of showers exists before 11 a.m., conditions will dry rapidly by midday, triggering enhanced fire weather risk throughout the region.
Residents near the Spokane Valley, Cheney, and Highway 2 should avoid any outdoor burning and secure loose materials that could spark. Breezy conditions will taper slightly into Tuesday night, with lows near 55°F and mostly clear skies expected.
The midweek brings a steady warming trend. By Wednesday, sunshine returns with highs around 88°F. The heat builds again Thursday and Friday, reaching the mid-90s by week’s end. Weekend highs will peak around 97°F by Sunday, with mostly sunny skies but elevated fire risk continuing across eastern counties.
Prepare now by limiting outdoor activities during peak heat, staying hydrated, and reviewing fire evacuation plans in vulnerable areas.
Warnings remain in place through Tuesday evening, and fire danger will likely continue into the weekend. The NWS may issue additional advisories later this week.
