Seattle, Washington – After a mostly cloudy start to the week, a new round of rain is set to reach Seattle by Thursday morning, bringing several days of wet conditions across the Puget Sound region. Daytime highs will hover near 60°F, with cooler, damp evenings expected through the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, rain chances rise sharply early Thursday, with precipitation likely continuing into Friday and Saturday. Confidence is high for widespread showers across King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties, with Friday night seeing up to an 80% likelihood of steady rainfall.
Roads including I-5, SR-99, and SR-520 could become slick during morning and evening commutes, especially where standing water accumulates. Light winds up to 8 mph will accompany the system, limiting visibility at times in heavier showers.
Residents are encouraged to check windshield wipers, clear storm drains, and allow extra time for travel during peak hours. Cooler overnight lows—dropping into the upper 40s—will add to the damp feel heading into Sunday.
Rain chances gradually taper early next week, but forecasters say additional systems could approach the area by mid-October.
