Seattle, WA – After a stretch of dry, sunny days, rain is expected to return to Seattle by late Wednesday night, bringing a wet commute and cooler temperatures to much of western Washington by Thursday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, a 20% chance of rain develops after 2 a.m. Thursday, increasing to an 80% likelihood of precipitation before 11 a.m. Rainfall will remain light, with most areas seeing less than a tenth of an inch. Daytime highs will reach the upper 60s in Seattle, with winds shifting from the south at 7 to 9 mph.
Bellevue, Renton, and the University District could experience damp conditions during the morning rush. Drivers should plan for slower travel times and possible slick roads on I-5 and I-90. With temperatures holding in the 50s overnight, residents are advised to keep windows closed and prepare for the shift in weather.
Friday brings a return to dry and sunny weather with highs near 76°F, but the weekend could see another round of light showers, especially Saturday night.
More rain is possible next week, and the NWS will issue further updates as conditions develop.
