Spokane, Wash. – After several sunny days, Spokane will see a sharp shift in weather by Friday as rain chances increase and weekend snow becomes possible in higher elevations.

According to the National Weather Service, Spokane will remain mostly clear through Thursday night, with daytime highs reaching the upper 70s. But by Friday morning, clouds roll in, bringing a 40% chance of rain that intensifies through Saturday. By Sunday, snow levels may drop as low as 4300 feet, with a 50% chance of mixed precipitation continuing into the evening.

Cities across eastern Washington, including Spokane Valley, Cheney, and Deer Park, should prepare for wet roads and reduced visibility. Daytime temperatures will dip to the mid-50s by Sunday, and overnight lows could fall into the upper 30s. The NWS notes an 80% chance of rain on both Saturday and Saturday night, making this the region’s first significant wet weekend since early fall.

Residents are advised to check windshield wipers, clear gutters, and avoid outdoor travel during periods of heavy rain. Mountain areas could see slippery conditions as snow levels lower.

Rain is expected to taper off by Columbus Day, but light showers may linger. More updates will follow if additional advisories are issued.
