Seattle, WA – Rain will return to Seattle by late Thursday afternoon, setting up a soggy stretch through the weekend with potential travel delays and slick roads.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, rain is likely after 5 p.m. Thursday with a 60% chance of precipitation and temperatures holding near 57°F. Light rain will continue into the night with south winds up to 7 mph. Friday brings a brief break with only a 40% chance of showers, but steadier rain is expected to resume Friday night into Saturday.

King County could see the heaviest rain Saturday afternoon with an 80% chance of precipitation and highs around 60°F. Areas such as Bellevue, Renton, and Shoreline should prepare for brief downpours and gusty winds from the northwest. Rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible.

Drivers should be cautious on wet roads and allow extra travel time, especially during evening commutes. With temperatures staying above freezing, snow and ice are not a concern, but ponding on roads could still lead to localized issues.

Drier conditions may return by Tuesday, but intermittent showers are possible through Monday. Stay updated as additional advisories could be issued this weekend.
