Washington’s inland Northwest starts damp and gray, with light rain falling across Spokane and wet pavement reflecting headlights along I-90. The air feels cool and भारी, and conditions shift quickly as temperatures hover near the upper 40s.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered rain showers continue through the morning before tapering, with highs reaching near 57°F. Snow levels hover near 4,000 feet, meaning higher terrain could briefly see a rain-snow mix later today, though accumulation remains unlikely in the city.

Spokane Valley, Airway Heights, and Cheney will see gradual clearing by afternoon, but don’t let drying roads fool you. Temperatures drop sharply tonight to near 30°F, setting up widespread frost and potential black ice by early Sunday morning. Bridges and overpasses on I-90 and US-2 are especially vulnerable.

Sunday starts cold, then transitions to increasing clouds with highs near 52°F. Any leftover moisture may refreeze early, creating slick spots during the morning drive. Plan ahead and allow extra stopping distance.

By Monday, a brief break arrives with partly sunny skies and highs near 57°F. However, meteorologists are tracking a stronger system pushing in Tuesday. Rain becomes likely, with an 80% chance and highs near 53°F, leading to widespread wet roads and reduced visibility.

Looking ahead, unsettled weather continues into midweek with additional rain and even a possible rain-snow mix during cooler periods.

Heading out this morning or preparing for Tuesday’s rain? Are you seeing slick roads or steady showers right now?
