SPOKANE, Wash. – A wall of fog blankets the Spokane Valley this Veterans Day morning, dimming streetlights and coating everything in a soft, gray haze. Visibility drops to a few hundred feet in places — a reminder that November mornings in eastern Washington can turn treacherous fast.

A Dense Fog Advisory from the National Weather Service in Spokane remains in effect until 11 a.m. PST, warning of visibility below a quarter mile from Davenport to Coeur d’Alene. Drivers should slow down, keep headlights on low beam, and leave plenty of space on I-90, U.S. 2, and local roadways. Patchy fog will persist through late morning before lifting into mostly cloudy skies and mild afternoon temperatures near 51°F.

By Wednesday, calm conditions give way to a more active weather setup. A Pacific front pushes inland, bringing increasing rain chances — up to 70% by Thursday — along with cooler air and snow levels dropping to around 4,100 feet. That means the first rain-snow mix of the month could brush higher elevations near Lookout Pass and Mt. Spokane late Thursday night.

Daytime highs will hover near the upper 50s midweek, then cool sharply by Friday as the storm exits and drier air settles in. The weekend looks partly cloudy but cool, with highs in the upper 40s and lingering patchy fog during early mornings.

For now, Spokane’s early November weather offers both a fall calm and a winter tease — fog first, rain second, and maybe a few flurries whispering the season’s next step.
