Leavenworth, WA – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. Tuesday through 4 p.m. Wednesday for Chelan County, as snow and isolated freezing precipitation are expected to make travel hazardous across central and western Chelan County, according to the National Weather Service in Spokane.
Forecasters expect 2–4 inches of snow below 4,000 feet and 3–9 inches above 4,000 feet, with a trace of freezing precipitation possible. Affected areas include Leavenworth, Plain, Stehekin, Stevens Pass, and Holden Village.
The combination of snow and light ice will likely lead to slick roads, especially on bridges and overpasses, with reduced visibility during periods of heavier snow. Drivers traveling over Stevens Pass and U.S. 2 should prepare for slow, difficult travel through Wednesday.
The NWS advises motorists to slow down, allow extra travel time, and check the latest road updates at wsdot.wa.gov/travel before departing.
