Spokane, Washington – Summer warmth is ramping up across eastern Washington, and Spokane residents should brace for rising heat and sun-drenched days through the weekend. By Sunday, highs could touch 90°F, with triple-digit heat possible early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday will be mostly sunny in Spokane with a high near 80°F and southwest winds gusting up to 20 mph. The heat begins to intensify Saturday, climbing to 82°F under clear skies. By Sunday, the city could see highs around 90°F — and forecasters expect Monday and Tuesday to top out near 97°F and 99°F, respectively.

Travelers on I-90 and outdoor workers should take precautions, especially midday. The heat combined with dry conditions raises the risk of dehydration and heat-related illness. Those without reliable cooling should seek public cooling centers or remain in shaded, well-ventilated spaces.

Nighttime temperatures will offer little relief, hovering in the upper 50s to low 60s through Tuesday. The trend is typical of early summer patterns in the Inland Northwest, but this stretch is shaping up to be the hottest of the season so far.

Expect calm skies and dry air through the extended forecast, with no significant rain chances. Air quality could drop slightly due to stagnant conditions, so those with respiratory issues should limit strenuous outdoor activity.

⚠️ Hot, dry conditions persist — next update to follow if heat alerts are issued this weekend.
