Spokane, WA – The first weekend of spring in Eastern Washington will bring a mix of rain, thunderstorms, and even snow at higher elevations. Showers will persist through Friday, with breezy conditions and the potential for thunderstorms in the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, Spokane can expect rain showers early Friday, followed by heavier rainfall and possible thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Winds will be breezy, reaching up to 28 mph. Rain chances are 90%, with new rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.

Friday night will remain wet, with rain likely before 2 a.m., then tapering to light showers. Temperatures will drop to the upper 30s, with wind gusts up to 24 mph.

Saturday will bring a brief break, with a 20% chance of rain in the afternoon and highs near 52°F. However, another system arrives late Saturday into Sunday, bringing rain mixed with snow above 2,500 feet.

Sunday’s high will reach 50°F, but precipitation remains likely throughout the day. Mountain passes, including I-90 through Snoqualmie Pass, may see accumulating snow, affecting travel conditions.

Next week starts with drier conditions, with partly cloudy skies Monday and a high near 44°F. Tuesday and Wednesday bring a slight chance of rain.
