Chelan County, WA – Human remains possibly belonging to Travis Decker, the father accused of murdering his three young daughters earlier this year, were found Thursday night in a wooded area south of Leavenworth, according to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
The discovery was made during a coordinated search led by the US Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force. Agencies assisting included the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, US Border Patrol, US Forest Service, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the remains have not yet been positively identified. Preliminary findings suggest they may be Decker’s, but DNA testing and forensic examination are still underway. The scene is being processed with assistance from the Washington State Patrol crime scene response team.
Decker was accused of allegedly killing his three young daughters in Chelan County, a case that drew significant public attention. Authorities had been searching for him for months.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed it has contacted the Decker family to provide updates and support, while also asking for continued privacy and respect as the investigation continues.
