Ritzville, WA – A Ritzville man was charged with assault after allegedly attempting to stab another man and subsequently beating him with a garden hoe in a field near W Hwy 26 and S Booker Rd. The incident occurred on Saturday prompting a swift response from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the male suspect brandished a knife and tried to stab the victim. Failing to do so, he allegedly used a garden hoe to repeatedly hit the victim.
Deputies identified the suspect as 50-year-old Claudio Aguirre-Vazquez, who was taken into custody. He was booked on suspicion of first-degree assault.
