Spokane, WA – Heat will grip eastern Washington and north Idaho this weekend, with highs soaring to 105°F and little overnight relief expected.
According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, a Heat Advisory goes into effect at noon Saturday and lasts through 8 p.m. Monday for areas including Spokane, Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Coeur d’Alene, and Lewiston. Daytime highs will range between 95 and 105°F, while nighttime lows will remain uncomfortably warm — between 65 and 75°F — especially in urban areas.
Cities like Ephrata, Post Falls, Tonasket, and Clarkston are expected to see prolonged heat, limiting recovery time and increasing the risk of heat-related illness, particularly for the elderly, children, and outdoor workers. Without air conditioning, indoor spaces may remain dangerously hot overnight.
Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activity during peak heat, and check on neighbors without cooling access. If possible, seek out cooling centers or spend a few hours in air-conditioned locations.
This advisory covers a large swath of the Inland Northwest. Additional alerts may follow if the heat wave intensifies or extends beyond Monday.
